Once dancers master Kizomba Level 2, they can transition into the Urban Kiz track with confidence, ensuring they understand the essence of Kizomba before adapting to Urban Kiz techniques.

These special topics explore the fusion of different styles and influences related to Urban Kiz and Kizomba, allowing dancers to broaden their knowledge, refine their skills, and deepen their musical and cultural understanding.
✅ Tarraxo: A deep, grounded style of movement emphasizing isolations, controlled body waves, and connection. Learn how to integrate Tarraxo into your dance for added expression and musicality.
✅ Douceur: The art of smooth, effortless leading and following. This class focuses on fluid transitions, soft weight shifts, and the delicate precision that defines high-level Urban Kiz dancers.
✅ Kompa: Originating from Haiti, Kompa has a rich musical history and shares similar fundamentals with Kizomba. Learn the groove, bounce, and essential steps that make Kompa a powerful dance on its own and a great influence on fusion styles.
✅ Zouk: Known for its fluid head movements, intricate connection, and deep musicality, Brazilian Zouk brings a unique dynamic to partner dancing. Learn how to apply Zouk concepts to Urban Kiz and explore body waves, counterbalance, and elasticity in movement.
✅ Semba: The energetic, playful, and traditional Angolan dance that gave birth to Kizomba. This class covers essential Semba steps, tricks, and partner dynamics that bring joy and spontaneity to the dance floor.
✅ Forró: A vibrant Brazilian partner dance with fluid, circular movements and close connection. Learn the basics and explore how Forró’s style and musicality can add creativity to your dance repertoire.
Each of these workshops will be led by expert guest instructors from the DMV and beyond, offering authentic, high-level training to elevate the DC dance scene.
